Bold Precision is located in the historic village of Kimberton, 25 miles west of Philadelphia. Inside an 1805 renovated fieldstone barn, Bold Precision is a full-scale machine shop, including CNC, with extremely diverse capabilities. For over 36 years, Albert Bold, president, has been consulting and designing machines and prototypes for all types of industry, including aerospace and motorcycle manufacture. Albert began his training as a child in the family machine shop in Philadelphia. After a brief stint at college, Albert attended trade school and began working for other machine shops in New Hampshire and Philadelphia. In 1984, Albert decided to open his own shop. Utilizing his extensive training and natural abilities, Albert has designed prototypes for patents as well as creating and machining specialty parts for industries, motorcycles, and developing his own line of bicycle components.

Albert was introduced to motorcycles at a young age and developed a passion for MV Agustas as a teenager. This passion led to a successful racing career. In 1982 and '83 Albert rode his home built MV Agusta to win the National WERA motorcycle championship and he continues to build and design specialty parts for competitors as well as classic bike collectors. Albert has done work for Billy Vose, 14 time world champ in 1/4 mile Pro-Modified motorcycle racing, and Larry Forstall of Vance and Forstall Racing, nine time world record holder at Bonneville. For quite a number of years, Albert has been instrumental in the maintenance and repair of racing machines in the Team Obsolete stables. With his experience in motorcycle racing and machinist background, Albert has specialized in building his own prototype MV complete with performance-enhancing parts. These are skills he continues to utilize to build race bikes and restore classic motorcycles for clients, specializing in MV Agustas.

At this time, Bold Precision is no longer manufacturing bicycle components.
As Albert has been a bicycle enthusiast, road and mountain bike racer for the better part of 35 years, he understands the need for lightweight, adjustable components. Albert also has the distinction of designing and developing some of the lightest quick release bicycle skewers available on the market today. In response to the need for a lighter, stronger, more adjustable post, he began designing and manufacturing titanium seatposts in 1992. His last "batch" was made in early spring of 2020. Beauty and function go hand in hand when Bold Precision components are added to a bicycle. Albert's components are not just for high level competitors; as his components are custom made, cyclists with special needs for sizes and offsets of seatposts have found his products have met their needs in performance as well as enhancing the beauty of their bikes.
